Disclosing complaints to a third party

Reporting disclosures to third parties

The Public Interest Disclosure Act 2012 outlines the circumstances in which disclosures are permitted to be made to third parties (journalists or members of the Legislative Assembly).

The Commission will publish guidelines regarding the specific circumstances in which disclosures made to third parties may still attract the protections of the Act (coming soon).

The Commission recommends that reporters seek legal advice before they make a disclosure to a third party.
