Public officials and public sector entities

Public officials and public sector entities

The Commission can receive, refer and investigate reports relating to or involving ACT public sector entities, ACT public officials, former ACT public officials, or aspects of ACT public administration.

A public official is any person who performs an official function for the ACT, or acts in an official capacity for the Territory. Public sector entities includes the Legislative Assembly for the ACT, the ACT public service, and other ACT public organisations and statutory commissions.

The Commission is not able to investigate matters relating to public sector entities from the Commonwealth or state or territory jurisdictions (other than the ACT) unless there is also a relevant connection to the ACT. This includes reports about the ACT Police (Australian Federal Police).
