Employment conditions

Eligibility for employment

The Commissioner must not appoint a person as a Commission staff member if they are, or have, in the 2 years immediately before the day of the proposed appointment, been:

(a) a member of the Legislative Assembly; or
(b) a member of staff of an MLA.

Security and integrity requirements

It is a condition of employment for all staff that they must have the ability to obtain and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) Commonwealth security clearance.

When starting with the Commission, all staff must complete a declaration of interests. This includes any financial and non-financial interests, associations and relationships which may have an actual, potential or perceived conflict of interest with their official duties.

Health requirements

We take proactive measures in response to influenza and COVID-19, including supporting staff to access relevant vaccinations to ease the impact and risk of these viruses in our workplace.

The Commonwealth Government encourages all members of the community to take part in the nation-wide COVID-19 vaccination program. This helps keep our employees and the community safe.
