What we can't investigate


Unless there is a relevant connection to the ACT, we cannot investigate matters about public sector entities from the Commonwealth or other state or territory jurisdictions.

We also cannot investigate matters about the ACT Police, as they fall under the jurisdiction of the Australian Federal Police (Federal Government).

We are not a complaints-handling agency.

Concerns about outcomes of recruitment processes, personnel decisions, or promotions should be raised with the appropriate Human Resources or Employee Relations team, unless there are reasonable grounds to suspect corrupt conduct.

We must dismiss corruption reports about the conduct of a judicial officer if the corruption report directly relates to:

We will dismiss reports disputing decisions by the ACT Civil and Administrative Tribunal (ACAT) unless there is a reasonable suspicion of corrupt conduct by an ACAT official.

Matters concerning detainees and conditions at ACT Corrective Service detention facilities

Concerns about conditions at the Alexander Maconochie Centre (AMC), or the treatment of detainees at the AMC, should be directed to the Official Visitor (OV), unless there are reasonable grounds to suspect corrupt conduct.

The role of the OV is to:
