After an investigation is complete


When a corruption investigation is completed, we prepare a report about that investigation.

An investigation report may contain findings, opinions and recommendations, and reasons why we have reached these conclusions. Under our legislation, an investigation report must not comment on the prospects of a prosecution.

We may, however, refer a matter to a prosecutorial body, including the ACT Director of Public Prosecutions, at any time.

We may also:

Either an investigation report or special report can be made confidential by leaving out information that could prejudice proceedings, identify certain people, or that is contrary to the public interest.

Information about a completed investigation may also be published in our Annual Report.

The person who reported the matter will be told if the corruption investigation is discontinued or completed. We will not be able to inform the reporter of these outcomes if they:

Public interest disclosure investigation

When a public interest disclosure investigation finishes, the discloser will be notified of any outcome.

Where an investigation into a public interest disclosure makes findings that disclosable conduct has occurred, the head of the relevant entity must take appropriate action to address that conduct.
